seth rogen is mourning the loss of his beloved dog, Zelda.
After nearly 14 years of cherished memories together, the Super Mario Bros. The star announced the death of his “perfect girl” in a heartbreaking tribute on Sunday. On Instagramsharing that he and Zelda “belonged to each other”.
“We said goodbye to our perfect girl, Zelda, on Thursday May 4th. She was almost 14 years old,” Rogen, 41, began the post along with an adorable close-up of his pup lounging on his bed.
“She really was the most special magical creature. She taught us about love, resilience, strength and kindness,” he shared. “We loved her more than words can describe. Everyone who knew her saw what a unique little pup she was. She looked into your soul with her gigantic doe eyes. She was so judgmental that when she loved you, she really knew you had earned it and you loved her.” It made you feel like you’ve won it.”
Rogen continued, “She had an amazing life and was lucky to have so many friends and shared her special love with so many people. She was such a shy girl that no one adopted her as a baby who grew into a child who traveled multiple countries, appeared in three movies, on two magazine covers, and inspired countless Zelda pieces of art, including a lighter that is now in hundreds of people’s homes.”
Adding a long list of highlights that were special about Zelda, Rogen shared memories like “The sound it made for the Zankou chicken,” he said about the popular Los Angeles chain. “The way the fur on her legs looks like culottes from behind,” she teased herself of the wide-legged garment.
Regarding their bathing habits, the pam and tommy The star noted Zelda’s “big gigantic poops that always surprised people by their small size” and how she would pretend to come out “to get us away from our food, even though she would never really do it.”
Overall, Rogen said it felt “amazing” to “wake up in the morning and see her looking at me.”
“We belonged to each other and we will miss her forever,” the dog’s owner concluded in the tribute.
